Fall is arguably the most romantic season of the year
Each season has an energy, and fall just says romance.
Now that the hustle of summer fun, endless daylight, and heat are mostly fading with summer tans, crisp clean air, and cooler nights are making fall felt by all.
What is romantic about fall? So much. And I’m not referencing the over played pumpkin spice latte here. It’s not even good. Rather, I’m positing that it is the preparation for the long winter that acts on independent souls to yearn to partner up.
Cooler temperatures can raise the temperature.
Because holding hands, snuggling, and canoodling in the heat? No. But any and all of that on a cold rainy day? Why, yes please.
Plus, the sweater is a key and underrated universally flattering item. So are boots. Even some scarves (hard no on the summer-y neckerchief though).
Fall lighting is also much more flattering. Add cooler temperatures to the list – less sweating, more layering.
Maybe everyone just has their season – the favorite, the one that they relish. Mine is fall, with the riotous beauty of leaves changing color, pumpkins, rivers filling back up, and that special smell that fall brings. I also happen to like Libras and Scorpios, whose birthdays fall in October and November.
Now, Hallmark has come close to swaying the vote for most romantic season to winter, mostly the holidays. But this can also be the loneliest of seasons. Unlike fall, where Friendsgiving and Oktoberfest bring cheer and connection.
Let’s all fall this fall.
Winter is the loneliest of seasons.
