Robert Frost got passion right
One day around a certain man I noticed a new spark in my chest and felt the longing for a new flame. A smile was all it took to set things aflutter. The allegory to fire and a burning in my body recalled the poem by Robert Frost Fire and Ice (1923).
Fire and Ice
Some say the world will end in fire
Some say in ice,
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And will suffice.
The X definitely let his love for me turn to ice, extinguishing the fire he once had for me.
Now, now I’m thawing and spring has me putting a bit more effort into looking and feeling good. With my head up, I can notice that smile that brings the heat. That puts the pep back in my step.
“L” can stand for love, bust also sometimes Lust. Perhaps that is the fire required to thaw a cold, cold heart.
I wanna feel the rush, I wanna taste the crush
I wanna get you going
