Rebuilding my life after my separation required a look in the mirror and a willingness to say I had lost my confidence in my ability to love and be in relationship.

Sometimes I felt like a ship at sea on turbulent waters, alone, lost.

A friend shared a YouTube video on 101 positive affirmations by teacher Louise Hay. I would fall asleep listening to it because it was better than feeling alone in a storm at sea.

The beauty of affirmations is that they clearly state desires. They give permission and clarity. I found that directing my attention to something uplifting improved my frame of mind.
